Donations enable us to deliver high quality programming, compile educational resources and spread the word about the importance of supporting restaurants that share our values.
Sponsor
Become a sponsor of the GDA – your company’s contributions will subsidize our membership fees, keeping them affordable for all interested restaurants. A sponsorship is a great way to support a good cause while promoting your company’s products and services. GDA restaurants can’t go green on their own – they need good sources of local foods, organic ingredients, energy efficient, non toxic cleaning supplies, compostable to-go products. They need someone to haul their recycling and compost. They need an eco-friendly laundry service to wash all of those reusable linens. Sound like a good fit? Click here for more info…
Volunteer
Are you passionate about where you eat? Do you want to have more dining options when you go out to eat? Consider volunteering to help spread the word. We are also seeking volunteers to participate in an advisory committee to help shape the program in its early years. We want the GDA to be a reflection of community values, yet be sensitive to the realities faced by locally owned restaurants. Assembling a diverse committee of restaurant stakeholders will help us improve the program, define goals and discover new outreach opportunities. Spread the Word
St. Louis Earth Day thrives on grassroots activism. Take the initiative to encourage your favorite restaurants to adopt sustainable practices by leaving our “calling card.” Click here to download the business card-sized letters. Just print, cut, and carry in your wallet or purse to leave behind with your receipt. Let us know if you are interested in being a distributer. Stay connected with facebook and twitter for our GDA Buycotts- days where we call on diners to unite, eat at a specific GDA target restaurant (or targeted area) and leave copious calling cards. They won’t know what hit them, but they will know that the diners have spoken with their dollar and business. And they’ll like it!

Become a Green Dining District
St. Louis is infamous for its neighborhoods, often brought to life with vibrant commercial clusters of restaurants and shops. Each area has its own unique feel and character – think U.City Loop, Washington Avenue, South Grand, downtown Maplewood and Kirkwood, Old Webster. Our goal is to add another component: Sustainability. Just as people seek out these favorite St. Louis destinations, GDA enthusiasts will frequent Green Dining Districts with peace of mind, knowing their favorite restaurants are also green restaurants. The more restaurants that get on board, the more opportunities there are for collaboration, shared resources and co-promotion. When a whole area of restaurants go green, restaurants may be able to collaborate in striking ways to conserve resources. Neighboring restaurants may be able to combine their trash, recycling and compost services to get a better price while increasing their waste diversion. Or they might be able to get better pricing or pay less in shipping for compostable to-go boxes if they teamed up and place one order. Green Dining Districts can be initiated by an anchor restaurant, a concerned citizen, a special business district and/or the local government. What will it take to get all the restaurants in your area on board?
Get Listed
We are constantly searching out local, regional and national distributors, service providers, and vendors who are able to provide our GDA members with sustainable options that enables them to advance their certification. If you would like to be listed, first fill out this quick questionnaire to make sure your product qualifies. Currently, we will post a basic (approved) listing at no cost.
