Individual Volunteer Opportunities & Registration

Below you will find descriptions for the following volunteer tasks, shift times and the number of volunteers needed in parentheses. Follow the links to complete your volunteer registration!

Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to fill in where needed–experience a variety of volunteer responsibilities at the Festival by helping us best meet our needs.

GREAT FOR A GROUP!
Help Trailnet manage the free bike valet parking for the many bike riders that arrive at the Festival on two wheels.

  • Sunday 10 am – 2:00 pm  FULL
  • Sunday 1:30 – 5:30 pm  FULL
  • Sunday 5 – 8:30 pm  *May be asked to assist with tear down.  1 spot available

Earth Day Eve
Assist in multiple capacities (i.e. welcome table/ticket booth, entertainment support, Recycling On The Go, and as needed).
Shift available:

  • SATURDAY 3 – 7 pm  FULL

Eco-Art Support
Help inspire kids and adults through hands-on, recycled art activities.  Assist Sue from the Teachers’ Recycle Center facilitate an art activity using recycled materials.

Entertainment Support
GREAT FOR A [small] GROUP!
**Ability to operate golf cart safely in large crowd and/or some experience/interest in food service.
Hang out with our awesome musicians! Assist stage managers at one of the three stages, help our entertainers move their gear and props, helping in one of the two hospitality tents (serving drinks & sandwiches), or fulfilling other entertainment-related tasks.

**Previous festival experience required.
Welcome visitors and answer questions relating to schedules and locations. (Requires patience and good communication/people skills.)

Neighborhood Captains
**Previous festival experience preferred.
The principle “go to” person for vendors in a neighborhood to assist with set-up and making sure vendors are in the correct locations.  Also, answering general questions and trouble-shooting if necessary/liaise with event logistics/operations coordinators.  (Requires patience and good communication/people skills.  Ability to juggle multiple requests under pressure.)

Crowd Counting & Donation
GREAT FOR A GROUP!
Welcome visitors to the Festival by handing them a program and keep count of visitors for 10 minutes each hour. Those comfortable will be asked to use tablets to request support from visitors for St. Louis Earth Day’s programming through staying in touch via email and a financial contribution. Recycling Extravaganza **At St. Louis Community College, Forest Park Campus (off Oakland Ave.)

Make an important impact on the event and on each visitor by helping them sort their hard to recycle items at this off-site event.  To read more, visit our Recycling Extravaganza page.  (Must be willing to with working with all types of materials.  Safety equipment provided.  Waste collectors must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.)

Recycling On the Go Team
GREAT FOR A GROUP!
Make an important impact on the event and on each visitor by helping them sort their waste into recyclable and compostable materials, and the stuff that’s destined for the landfill.  To read more, visit our ROG program pages.  (Must be willing to work with trash.  Safety equipment provided.  Waste collectors must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.)

Saturday & Sunday Set-Up Crews 
GREAT FOR A GROUP!
Help us prepare The Muny grounds for the Festival.  Activities may include, but are not limited to:  moving tables/chairs, setting up straw bales, setting up barricades and traffic signage, and placing recycling bins throughout the festival footprint.  (Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.)

  • SATURDAY 8 am – 12 pm
  • SATURDAY 12 – 4 pm
  • Sunday 7 – 11 am

Tear Down Crew
GREAT FOR A GROUP!
Help return The Muny grounds to their pre-Festival splendor.  Activities may include, but are not limited to:  breaking-down Festival booths (such as information, recycling stations, volunteer, merchandise, etc.), picking up debris on the event grounds, and assisting with supplies load out. Help to supervise special parking areas, such as the musician/performers parking area. (Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.)
