Getting There

“Walk the walk”  by using alternative transport to get to this year’s St. Louis Earth Day Festival.

By Metro: The Festival grounds are only a ½ mile from the Forest Park/DeBaliviere Metrolink Station. Walk South-east past the History Museum and the Visitors Center toward the Muny. Click here for walking routes to the Festival from the Metrolink Station. You can also catch the Forest Park Trolley from the station.

By Bike: Ride one of the many paths in Forest Park to the Festival grounds at the Muny, just South of the Visitor’s Center. Trailnet will be providing secure, free bike valet parking in two locations. Click here to view the bike valet locations (also identified on our program map). If you are interested in leading a group ride, please submit your ride information and we’ll post it below!

By Foot: Celebrating Earth Day is a great time to get on the “Heel-Toe Express”! Measure your walk using Google pedometer!

Carpool: If you must drive, load up your car with as many friends, family, neighbors and pets you can find! View recommended park entrances, routes and parking. Note: Avoid the  Hampton Street entrance off Highway 40/64 because of heavy Zoo traffic.

Park & Ride (your bike!): Use the Festival as an opportunity to explore the surrounding neighborhoods by parking within biking distance and using two wheels to get into Forest Park. What’s our favorite? Consider parking near the Missouri Botanical Garden or Tower Grove Park and cycle through The Hill on your way to celebrate Earth Day. SEE BELOW for group ride locations.

Parking

Public parking is available in the Upper Muny Lot and in the Visitors’ Center Lot. You may also park along the surrounding streets but all of Forest Park will be very congested and idling cars are not environmentally friendly. Please consider the alternative options listed above.

Handicapped Parking is available in the Lower Muny Lot, off of Theatre Drive. This lot is accessed most easily from the Grand Blvd/Forest Park Parkway entrance to Forest Park.

Shuttle Service

10:30am to 6:30pm, every 15 minutes on the hour |  St. Louis Community College parking lot, Forest Park campus
Don’t wait in an idling car to get a nearby parking space! Even if you aren’t dropping off spring cleaning debris at the Recycling Extravaganza, you are welcome to leave your car at STLCC and catch a ride to the Festival via a free shuttle service, provided by the City of St. Louis, Lambert International Airport and Super Park. The shuttles are powered by biodiesel or clean-burning Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). The Festival Shuttle stop is at the edge of the Transportation Neighborhood.

Have you heard about the new Forest Park Trolley? Hop on at the Forest Park/DeBaliviere Metrolink Station and ride it to your Forest Park destination of choice. Read all about it and view a map and schedule on the nextstopstl.org website.

Group Rides

Do you want to lead a group bike ride to the Festival? Submit your ride information and we’ll post it here!
