In addition to our Recycling On the Go and Green Dining Alliance programs, St. Louis Earth Day has organized many other events. Here are some events we have created over the years for the community:
St. Louis Earth Day Festival
The St. Louis Earth Day Festival is the oldest in the Midwest and second largest Earth Day Festival in the Nation! Attracting 30-40,000 attendees annually, the Festival is a premier destination for the public to learn about a wide-range of environmental issues in an engaging and entertaining setting.
Taste of Green
Started in 2016, Taste of Green is an annual fundraiser for our year-round programs featuring food and beverage samples from our Green Dining Alliance-certified restaurants, a silent auction and entertainment.
Earth Day Eve
Earth Day Eve was a lively St. Louis Earth Day organization fundraiser that happened Saturday night before the Festival, featuring music, food and much more! It was replaced with the Taste of Green fundraiser in 2016.
Also known as “REX!”, we’ve been organizing this massive hard-to-recycle collection event on the same day as the St. Louis Earth Day Festival since 2011. It features 20 collectors and recyclers of hard-to-recycle items all in one place.
Celebrating those daring community members that had a vision and put it into action by creating the St. Louis Earth Day Festival, the Symposium and our 501(c)3 St. Louis Earth Day organization.
St. Louis Earth Day Symposium
This important educational and networking event for local governments and planning professionals provided tools for implementing sustainable considerations in new projects throughout the St. Louis area for 14 years. In 2016, we decided that there were many other like events being organized so we have shifted our focus back to our core programs: Green Dining Alliance and Recycling On the Go.
Event Greening Workshop
We’ve been gaining knowledge and testing strategies for effective event greening and waste diversion since 2006. Since 2011, we invite our event partners and other interested organizers to participate in a training program that we facilitate with guest speakers from relevant industries. The workshop has now become a more stream-lined 90-minute presentation for venues like the MORA Conference in 2016.
